How To Create A Long Lasting Water Proof Bridal Base

Nothing is more important for a bride to be than having the surety of a Long Lasting Bridal Base that is water proof and does not disappear from any part of the face. This wish is really important for Asian brides who get married in summers, since the weather is really hot and sweating is a fact no one can deny or get rid of in Asian countries like India and Pakistan.

Even though I am giving the example of India and Pakistan when talking about this long lasting base, but it is not necessary that it cannot do the same magic for Western skin as well. This technique can be used by any person of any color or skin type to achieve same water proof and long lasting bridal base.

This technique is basically used in beauty parlors and I was introduced to it from a beautician in my locality that is famous for her long lasting bridal makeup looks. Hence all the credits go to the said person and not me solely. Since this technique works really well, I thought to put it online so that other makeup artists or brides, who have decided to do their own makeup, will be able to achieve the flawless and water proof base like professional makeup artists.

I will explain the method in steps. You guys will need to follow these steps as they are mentioned. You may change products if you are really familiar with any products in your country or locality that provide the same finish as the products mentioned in this blog post.

The products that we will be using include:

1.   1-  Face Wash of your choice
2-  Use Ice to massage the skin for few minutes
3-  Toner (You can even use Rose Water as it is natural and helps tighten pores that will give smooth effect for your foundation base application)
4-  Skin Moisturizer
5-  Primer
6-  Loose Powder or Translucent Powder
7-  Stick Based Foundation (I'll always prefer Kryolan TV Paint Stick for bridal looks)
8-   Liquid Foundation of your choice (Most preferably Mac, Maybelline or Miss Rose
Purely Natural Foundation or Miss Rose Water Proof Foundation)

9- Setting Spray of your choice

Step 1

Wash your face with any face wash that suits your skin. By the way if you want to figure out which drug store face wash you can use for your skin on daily basis without compromising your skin health, you can read my blog post on Top Five Best Face Washes In Affordable Price.

Use Cold water to wash your face and then use a soft towel to dry out the excess water from your skin. Do not rub your skin roughly with the towel to dry and use dabbing motion to soak excess water from your skin.

Step 2

Ice is known as the magic trick to keep your skin young and healthy, many famous celebrities actually use ice directly on their faces or they dip their face in icy cold water for some minutes daily in the morning to get the younger looking skin.

You can even watch Dr. Oz’s program where women who looked ten or twenty years younger mentioned using this technique all their lives.

Take an ice cube inside a cotton cloth or tissue or you can even use it directly to massage all over your face. This will make your skin soothing, tighten up your pores, improve the blood flow of your skin and provide you with instant glow on your face.

Pro Tip: My mom always advises me to keep my damp sponge inside freezer for some minutes and use it to blend my makeup. She claims using this technique all her life and says that her makeup lasted really well. I cannot deny this fact, as I have watched her looking beautiful all day long in makeup looks that lasted all day till she washed it off herself.

Step 3

Use a toner. I would ask you to not really go for high end toners if you have Rose Water in your house. Keep the rose water in your refrigerator always. After washing your face and prepping the skin with ice, spray rose water on your skin including face and neck. You can also use cotton to put it on your skin if you do not own rose water spray bottle.

Let it sit on your skin and let it air dry.

Rose water is the most inexpensive and world’s best skin toner that anyone can find. I always keep one with me in my vanity and use it several times a day on my skin. It is so refreshing and makes your skin glow, tightens the pores and smells perfect as well.

Step 4

Apply any moisturizer that suits your skin type. Apply it on your skin and let it air dry.

Step 5

Primer is the major foundation of any long lasting makeup look. You can use any primer that you have with you. The best thing will be to use gel based primers that give smooth texture to your skin and provide it a matte look.

Step 6

Take any loose powder or translucent powder (Kryolan will be a best choice) of your choice and put it all over your face. Translucent powder works best but you can also use any loose powder that you have.

Apply this powder on your face and neck with a damp sponge and let it sit for some time. You can use quantity that may not be too much and people with dry skin will really need to use less of this product as their skin may not work well for next procedure if they will use too much of the product on skin that is already dry.

With this step done, we can finally move towards our step number five that actually involves the makeup foundation base.

Step 7

In step 5, you will use your foundation stick on your skin. The foundation stick that I will recommend using for brides will always be Kryolan TV Paint Stick. This foundation stick is used by professional makeup artists all over the world and it lasts really long. I personally love this foundation stick and despite having an acne prone skin, this stick surprisingly do not cause me any acne and my skin actually feels better even when I am using it on daily basis for whole month or two.

Apply the stick with help of your skin all over your face and neck and then use damp sponge to blend it with dabbing motion and do not try to drag the product. You can use as much product as you like, but I will recommend to not go overboard, as we will be layering this with our liquid foundation as well.

Step 8

Now that you are done with applying your TV Paint Stick or any other Stick Foundation that you like and is long lasting, the next step would be to layer it with a coat of liquid foundation of your choice. You can use any product that suits your skin type. Use the required quantity and blend it with the help of beauty blender or makeup sponge as you did earlier for the stick foundation base.

Step 9

After applying the second layer of foundation that is the liquid foundation, you will need to apply translucent powder or loose powder all over your face and neck once again. Apply the product thoroughly and then let it sit for few minutes and then dust off any excess powder.

This final stage of your makeup ill basically set the entire makeup base that you have applied earlier and lock the products on your skin.

Step 10

Step 10 is like the last nail to the coffin lols. I know that is a weird reference to give on this very positive blog post that is related to makeup rofl.

Anyhow, jokes apart, no one can deny the impact of setting sprays. They basically make your makeup sealed for all day long and actually enhance the look of highlighters on your face. You can actually do everything till step 9, then do the remaining makeup look including the contour, eye shadows, brows, lips, highlighting and then use the setting spray at the end.

So guys this was the much needed long lasting and water proof bridal base technique that I learnt for a beautician and is now available on this blog for every one of you. Do try this technique and then experiment with it and do not forget to give me your feedback after using this technique.
