Blotting Sheet Method
A blotting sheet is the
most easy method to find out your skin type, It is the most easiest method as
well. For this method, all you need to have is blotting sheets. To figure out
you skin type, you will need to take blotting sheets and pat them on different areas
of you face. After patting the sheet on different areas of your face, hold the
sheet in front of a light source and check how much oil shows up on the sheet.
- If the blotting sheet has little to no oil absorption and seems dry, then you have a dry skin.
- If the blotting sheet comes dry from your cheeks area, but it absorbs oils from your T Zone area that will be your nose and forehead area that means you have a combination skin type.
- If you pat blotting sheet on different areas of your face and it is completely saturated with oils then it means you have an oily skin type.
Bare Face Method
The bare face method is
another great method to determine your skin type. To carry forward with this
method, you will need to cleanse your face with a cleanser and then wash and
pat dry the face. Once you pat dry the face, do not apply any products or
moisturizer on your face and let it stay like this for 30 to 60 minutes.
- After 30-60 minutes if your face feels really tight and it has no shine on it and looks absolutely dry then you have a dry skin type.
- After 30-60 minutes, if your face is dry and feels tight on the cheeks area but your T Zone area is shinny then you likely to have a combination skin type.
- After 30-60 minutes if your whole face including the T Zone area and cheeks are shinny and you can touch and feel oil on these skin areas then you have an oily skin type.
